**Contact the Federal Trade Commission under the Identity Theft and Assumption Deterrence Act

**They are responsible for processing your complaint if you feel you have been victimized by identity theft. They will issue informational materials and refer you to appropriate entities, including the major credit reporting agencies and law enforcement agencies.

**You can gain additional information by checking the FTC's identity theft web page.

**Contact your local FBI as well as the U.S. Secret Service to report your claims.

In the event of other forms of identity theft

**Contact your local office of the Postal Inspection Service for matters involving a change-of-address form with the Post Office to redirect your mail.

**Contact the Social Security Administration when your SS number has been used fraudulently. (call 800-269-0271 to report the fraud);
